The much anticipated return of Castle is just a few hours away, and I'm really looking forward to this season. As I hope everyone is. :D

Having said that, I think it's time to put this comm on hiatus. :( Fortunately, the other, more active, Castle comm on LJ has gotten much better about marking things as spoilers, though they do tend to not waste any time using promo images in icons and graphics. Guess no one's perfect, right? ;)

Anyway, it's been fun! And here's to several more years of seeing these characters on our screens. In the meantime, enjoy the new season, everyone!

Now that the show's on hiatus for the summer, there's not much to report about it. However, seems like the cast and crew are keeping busy, instead of lazing around during their break. :) So, with no further ado...

First, Andrew Marlowe & Terri Miller did a Writers Panel with Nerdist. This was actually recorded back in April, but was just released on the podcast this month. Haven't had a listen yet, so can't speak as to its content.

Luke Reichle's webseries, Secrets of the Red Carpet has gone live. It streams live on Saturdays, but you can catch the most recent episode at the first link.

Seamus did an interview with Wine Enthusiast Magazine

Jon's continuing his Day in the Lyfe webseries and flying with the US Navy's Blue Angels.

Beginning at 3'17", Stana talks about her work on the Batman: Arkham City video game, and next month she'll be filming a new movie, CBGB. Spoilers at both those links, btw. Also, not something she's doing, per se, but she's on Maxim's Hot 100 list this year. Don't remember if she was on it last year, but this year she comes in at #80.

And Nathan's been busy going to a musical based on The Lord of the Rings and a movie fesitval airing of Serenity, where he did a Q&A (in 3 parts) afterwards. He talks a little about his upcoming role in Much Ado: The Movie, and mentions that he'll be going to a television festival in Monte Carlo.

And that catches us up for now. :) Anyone doing a rewatch this summer, or catching up on episodes they've missed? TNT seems to have delayed their reruns of Season 1. Hopefully, they'll be airing them soon, though. In the meantime, there's always DVD's.

ABC finally started announcing their season renewals today, and Castle is among the first to be renewed. Season 5, here we come! Gonna be an interesting ride. :)

While we wait for next season, the first chapter of the new Nikki Heat novel is now available for reading at the show's official website.

Also, check out this map of Castle's lair, courtesy of his official website. Be sure to click the "Battle Plans" link at the bottom for more pics. BTW, this was posted after 4x22, so if you aren't caught up, might want to wait 'til you are. ;)

Marta Evry posted some behind-the-scenes pics from the finale. They're mostly of the crew, and not really spoiler-y - unless you don't know who the guest star was in that episode.

And last, but not least, Jon and Seamus are singing for charity in Los Angeles this weekend. Too bad I live so far away. ;)

Hard to believe it's finale night! Is everyone looking forward to it? Hoping Castle & Beckett finally TALK, or wishing they'd just drop it and get on with the fun banter? Whatever happens, I, personally, hope that next season has less angst and more fun. But that's next season. Let's leave that for later and get on with the news...

First up, A Brewing Storm, the first Derrick Storm e-novella, is now available for purchase. I've seen it other places than Amazon, including iTunes, so check your favorite e-book source if you don't have a Kindle. If you want to read the first two chapters for free, go to ABC's Castle site. I've read the first chapter, and it's quintessential Richard Castle prose. :) Also, the next two novellas are available for pre-order, see the first link.

This season's DVD release is scheduled for September 18. Now if they'd just announce a renewal for next season...

Remember when Jon & Stana won the PRISM Award for "Kill Shot"? Well, video of their acceptance speech is now available.

The lovely Juliana Dever joined Twitter last month, so give her a follow if you're into that. :)

Stana's film, Truth About Kerry has been released on DVD. I remember seeing trailers for this a while back. Could be interesting...

Both Nathan and Stana have been doing the publicity rounds. Nathan moreso than Stana, but here are a bunch of video links: Nathan on Good Morning, America! and Live! with Kelly, both of which contain spoiler clips from tonight's episode, Nathan on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, which is probably only US viewable, so have another link via a Russian video site and Stana doing a really cute interview with TV Guide Magazine in which it appears she's also done a photoshoot with them. Will have to watch for that...

And last, but not least, the 2012 Castle Fan Awards are open for nominations. If you have a favorite fic, vid, icon, etc., head over and nominate it! Nominations close next week, so there's still time.

And that's all, folks! Enjoy the finale and feel free to come back and tell us what you think about it. I'm off to read the second chapter of that Derrick Storm novella. :D

Wow! This season is almost over. Where has the time gone? There are only three more episodes to air, including tonight's. And still no official word of a new season. :( Still, the cast and crew seem optimistic, so we will be, too. :)

While we wait, here's some fun stuff to get us through:

Stumbled upon this Rick Castle/Nathan Fillion Appreciation Board on Pinterest the other day. It's more Nathan than Rick, but that's ok, right? ;) Anyone out there use Pinterest? Think it'll be the new Tumblr? I kind of doubt it, but one never knows...

Seems like Castle & Beckett have a few fans. They were voted TV Guide's Favorite Couple, even though they aren't even a couple. Yet. Think it'll happen this season? Or are we going to have to wait until next? Whenever it happens, do you think it'll kill the show, or are the writers good enough to keep the ST going once it's no longer UST?

ABC's been busy in the cross-fandom promotion department. Seems like Castle made an appearance on Missing. It was a "don't blink or you'll miss it" situation, but fortunately someone got a screen grab.

CastleTV's been keeping up with their podcasts. I don't always link them, so be sure to check their archives to see who they've talked to in the past, but here's one with Robert Duncan, the music composer. They also put out a sneak peek for their next one with Marta Evry, editor, and Penny Johnson Jerald - aka Captain Gates. They say there are no spoilers for upcoming episodes, which is always good to know.

Speaking of Penny Johnson Jerald... Apparently she joined Twitter back in December. Oops, don't know how I missed that.

Luke Reichle took ShoesTV behind the scenes and showed them over 1,200 pairs of shoes worn by various members of the cast. Wow! The video starts with a spoiler scene from tonight's episode, so you might want to wait 'til later to check it out, but it's a fun watch, so do take the time later. Here's hoping it's not US restricted. Also? Apparently Luke has his own website, and will be streaming content online beginning in May. Interesting...

Tamala Jones did a short interview with Fitness Magazine, in which she talked about a prank Nathan pulled on her. Oh, Nathan. :)

And in the lead up to the finale, which was filming last week, the cast and crew had a wrap party before wrapping. Stana and Penny were the only ones "lucky" enough to have their photos tweeted from it.

And that's all for this week. There's another break next week, and then the final 2 episodes of the season will air over the following 2 weeks. Can't believe the end is upon us. Gonna be a fun ride to the finale! Here's hoping it's not as nail-biting as last year's. ;)

Time to catch up on the news before tonight's episode. :)

In Castle news, there's still no word of renewal :( But, CastleTV.net is keeping everyone on their toes with a Renewal Challenge on their website. Try your luck, you might win a nice tote bag.

In other official news, though, there's a synopsis available for the new "Nikki Heat" novel, which has a new release date, too! It's now slated for release on September 18, one week earlier than previously announced. The new "Derrick Storm" novella also has a title and synopsis available. It will be available for ereaders on May 1.

Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller were on the Nerdist Panel in LA this past weekend. Their appearance should be released on a podcast eventually.

Molly Quinn was also busy this weekend, attending the Kids' Choice Awards.

Nathan Fillion talked to the Hollywood Foreign Press, telling them what kind of book he would write, if he wrote a book.

Speaking of Nathan, he and Luke Reichle won Shorty Awards in their respective Twitter categories. This was Nathan's second time winning. :)

If anyone has bunches of money just lying around, Jon Huertas is participating in a Humane Society charity auction. You can have lunch with him with the winning bid.

And speaking of Jon... :) Tamala Jones is working with him on a short film that he's writing. That video has spoilers for tonight's episode, so skip ahead to the one minute mark to remain spoiler free and hear her talk about their plans.

And, last but not least, CastleTV.net is planning another Castle convention. It's being held in LA on November 17-18. No announced guests so far, but stay tuned!

And that's it for this week. Enjoy tonight's episode!

Now that the cast is back to working there's not so much news to be posting. Guess that's a good thing?

A couple of weeks ago, Whedonopolis interviewed some of the cast and crew at the PaleyFest. This week, they uploaded an interview they did with Seamus about the same time. I haven't watched the videos or listened to the podcast, so beware of possible spoilers.

Stana's episode of Fletcher Drive was also uploaded this week. She's only in the first 40 seconds or so, but she's adorable.

She also talks about her Alternative Travel Project and other tech-y stuff on "Talking Your Tech" for USA Today.

And that's all, folks! Still no official word of a pick up for Season 5. :( Hopefully soon!

Holy Shmoley! There's lots of stuff to link this week. The show might have been on hiatus, but the cast sure weren't. :)

First, I updated last week's entry with a link to the PaleyFest panel on Hulu. Seems the YouTube version of it has been removed, so if you haven't watched it yet... Here's hoping it's available worldwide. *crosses fingers*

As an update to this post from January, the webseries that Stana was involved with has released a trailer. She shows up briefly at the 28 second mark, and from the looks of it, this was filmed way back around the first season of Castle. My have things changed since then. :)

There's also a followup to this post from February. Stana & Jon won the PRISM Award. And, as surmised, it was for "Kill Shot". Congratulations to both of them!

Speaking of congratulations... In case you haven't heard, Nathan has been cast in the upcoming "Percy Jackson" movie sequel! Can we all say awesome? Yes, I thought so. :) (Casting spoilers in that link.)

In other news, Stana and Seamus decided to go car free for a week this month. (There are some spoilers in that link, after the photo of Nathan and Stana, so be aware.) Stana talked to Parade magazine about going car free, as well as a bunch of other stuff. Don't worry, though. In spite of the teaser headline, there's no spoilers in that interview.

Seamus also did an interview with Music Fashion Magazine. Check it out for the picture if nothing else, although the interview is good, too. ;)

Last week Jon and Seamus attended an event to benefit UNICEF. While there, they decided to do some singing. :)

They also appeared on The Morning After Hulu webseries to do a "Jersey Shore Dramatic Re-enactment". Apparently, this video won't be available for long, so watch it now if you can. Funny stuff!

Speaking of funny stuff, and something I thought was highly appropriate to this comm, Michael Trucco is in a video at College Humor called Official Spoiler Rules. Enjoy!

And enjoy tonight's episode, too! Looks like a fun one. :)

Another week without a new episode, so let's talk PaleyFest, shall we?

As expected, the panel was lots of fun to watch. :) If you didn't get a chance to watch it on LiveStream, mjpancake uploaded it on YouTube. It's embedded behind the cut. Be aware that there are a few spoilers throughout. Also, the panel will be available on Hulu once the Fest is over on March 15th, so give it a look there if you can. Actually, all the panels from the Fest are slated to be on Hulu, so if there's another show whose panel you'd like to see, that's the place to do so. :)

Hilarity ensuesCollapse )

Tonight is the night of the Castle panel at PaleyFest! If anyone is inclined to watch it on LiveStream, you can do so here. The event starts at 10PM EST/7PM PST. If you're not sure what that translates to for your location, give World Clock a look.

I'm hoping to catch the majority of the panel myself. Depends when I get home from another commitment. *crosses fingers* It should be fun viewing, and a great filler while we wait through another hiatus week. :)
